Talk about "extreme" makeovers. Orange County's Riviera Magazine invited ten SoCal surf-and-skate brands to imagine what their dream room would look like—the results of which can now be found at the Riviera Design Series' "Casa Surf Project". It's a novel concept, really: Brands like Quiksilver, Billabong, and Etnies have already conquered the apparel game, so why not spruce up the place where we end up after a day of ripping? Home sweet home. Or in this case, La Casa Del Camino—the historic 38-room boutique hotel in Laguna Beach, CA. The Casa Surf Project underscores just how much action sports brands have grown up, and how versatile their design sensibilities have become. ASR lifers may complain about a lack of kegerators or stripper poles in the following hotel rooms, but that's stuff best left for the amateurs. Hotel guests will be able to pick which rooms they'd like to stay in, plus a small percentage of each rate goes to charity. Enjoy your stay? That's guaranteed.—Carleton Curtis
