N3 Boatworks' 1 of 1 Nautique 210 Black Edition

Posted on Thu Nov 05 18:33:00 -0800 2009

FUEL TV tracked down the builders of what has become one of this year's most talked about boats, the N3 Boatworks Super Air Nautique 210 Team, "Black Edition".

What is it?

At its core, it's simply a 2009 Correct Craft Super Air Nautique 210 Team Edition powered by a Pleasurecraft Marine Excalibur 5.7.  But this particular 210 has a little bit more window dressing than a typical sibling 210.

Not to be outdone, Nautique does offer the Super Air Nautique 210 Byerly Icon Edition - a boat very reminiscent of what you're seeing above, but it is a limited-run production model manufactured by Correct Craft.

The craftsmanship, detail and sheer depth of custom work that is seen in the N3 Boatworks Super Air Nautique 210 "Black Edition" is unprecedented.  We've not seen what is ostensibly a stock wake boat modified to such a high degree before. All flat-black and mostly powder coated by hand, the boat is darker than the sum of its parts.

We had seen a few photos of this 210 earlier in its life at boat shows or on a trailer, and it was impressive even then. But seeing it in the water finally is the last bit of evidence we needed before formally stamping it Awesome Approved. It seems that there wasn't a stripe of gelcoat, a chunk of vinyl, a cut of upholstery or a slice of fabric that was left off the "let's make this black too" list that we're sure N3 Boatworks kept while building this one-off vessel.

N3 Boatworks is the central Indiana Nautique dealer and is known across the country as an expert in specialty fabrication of Nautiques.

We've connected with them and can share their side of this interesting story now in part 2 of this feature. Enjoy! And many thanks to N3 Boatworks for their cooperation and time in creating this feature!
