you should try skiing. It's much easier to get into at first, which is forgiving, and then as you want to progress, it eventually becomes more challenging than snowboarding. Try it out; see how you like it.

youll probibly need a mini long to get started thats if you want to get into using shortboards, because the mini long helps u get to short boards easier, but if u jus wanna surf like ur floating on air, go for long board, best feeling in the world going through a pipeline on a long board, its...itss... its jus the best feeling in the world, once you get in one u dnt wanna get out,but srry bout that i love surfing

everyone above is right go to your local surf shop they always stoked to help other people. I'm like best friends with the owner of my local guy haha

I would say get a longboard cause there easier but thats good in the summer and now that its going to be winter soon shortboards are better to ride now. (I moved to RI this year so our waters are probs the same)

and whatever board you get just have fun! thats what surfing is about! :D

yeah, i'd have to say to give skiing a shot first, too. i sent from skiing to using ski boards and then started boarding. it was a much easier, but kinda expensive transition. since you posted this a while ago, how's everything going now?
