For over a quarter of a century, Bret Marumoto has been shaping boards. He began honing this skill at the young age of fourteen in San Diego, California. When he realized his potential, he decided to move to the North Shore in hopes of establishing himself as an exclusive shaper to some of the best surfers in the world. To separate himself from the corporate competition, he has strived to be progressive and innovative with his designs. Every board he makes is custom built to his client.
He has shaped for pros and legends that range anywhere from Dustin Barca and Kalani Chapman to Mike and Derek Ho. His goal is to stay true to himself and never lose touch with why he fell in love with board shaping – creating unique, artistic hand-crafted boards with soul.
