“Cigano” is the current UFC Heavyweight Champion. Dos Santos faced Cain Velasquez at UFC on Fox 1 for the championship. Dos Santos connected a punch to the side of Velasquez’s head and finished him off with multiple blows defeating Velasquez in 1:04 of the first round. The performance also earned Knockout of the Night honors. After the fight, it was revealed that he had a torn meniscus in his knee.
Dos Santos is set to defend the UFC Heavyweight Championship title against the winner of the UFC 141 main event, Alistair Overeem.
