Ollie O’Flaherty

Ollie O’Flaherty

Living all his life on the rugged, but extremely beautiful west coast of Ireland, Ollie began to surf at the age of four on a family holiday to France. With help from his uncle Alan Coyne he continued to surf the Irish swell and fell in love with the sport. His first board was a 6,6 hot pepper that was broken in half and put back together by his uncle. "It’s not what you ride but how you ride!"

Early in his career he began to see great success at surf contests throughout Ireland and traveled all over the world with the junior Irish team and has continued to be placed with the top surfers in the country. Ollie’s real passion lies in heavy wave surfing and tow surfing. His main goal is to capture as many of his waves on camera from Rileys, Aileens, Laurens and other new slabs throughout the country.

At the moment, he’s surfing in Ireland chasing every swell and hopeful getting some amazing images and video to stoke everyone out. You’ll find Ollie spends the summer traveling the world to chase down heavy waves in warmer waters and living the epic lifestyle every step of the way! Ollie is nominated for the “Biggest Wave” award at the 2012 Billabong Global Big Wave Awards.
